Frequently referred to as 'Mexican ducks', Black Bellied Whistling Ducks need a slightly larger entrance than the Wood Duck.  However you might find this box to be used by both species as the wood ducks tend to finish the nesting cycle in advance of Black Bellies arriving.  Mount on a post over or on a tree near water.  Includes wire ladder to assist the ducklings climb out.  Lower side guard protects the nest when opening the side for observation.  Includes wood chips for nesting material which you should replace after each nest cycle.  Design includes proper ventilation, drainage and easy opening for clean-out.  Sustainably grown 1" thick Eastern White Pine ensures optimal insulation.  Hand crafted with pride in Maine
